Every single wine that he tastes turns into an undeniable and credible bestseller on a global market. Michel Rolland is a wine expert who has considerably influenced the oenophile  world in the last decades. Considered a genius and known as a flying winemaker (a person who consults on wine-making), Michel Rolland contributed to the success of over 100 vineyards on five continents.

In a week, this foremost wine consultant will arrive to Kraków for the  ENOEXPO International Wine Trade Fair (16th-18th of November 2011) which is the only professional event dedicated to wines. During the Fair, Michel Rolland will be honored as "Man of the Year 2011 according to the magazine Czas Wina ".

Genius who evokes controversy

Michel Rolland is a well known but also a controversial figure in the world of wine. He was one of the characters of a documentary titled Mondovino from the 2004 which was nominated for the Palme d'Or prize in Cannes. After the film’s broadcast,, Michel Rolland was widely criticized on the grounds that he treats wine as a purely commercial good and that he standardizes its taste, which proves detrimental to the small vineyards famous for their original recipes.

There is no doubt however that Michel Rolland is  an icon of the contemporary wine-making world. Rolland is among the prominent wine personalities placed next to Robert Parker, Janis Robinson or Hugh Jonson. The wines that he promotes become immediately credible and frequently acclaimed by wine critics on a global market. This year The Great Wall – the biggest wine producer in China – has joined the ever growing circle of Rolland’s clients. Rolland owns 12 vineyards, located mainly in Bordeaux, but also in Argentina and South Africa. On a second day of the Enexpo Fair, which is on the 17th of November at 4 pm, wine enthusiasts from Poland and abroad will meet in order to attend a special event. Namely, Michel Rolland, guru wine consultant, and Jair Agopian, known for contributing to  the revival of the Bulgarian wine industry, will be awarded with the title of Man of the Year 2011 by magazine Czas Wina. The prize has been  awarded to the leading wine connoisseurs for the last two years. The wine expert that was recognized last year was Agusti Torello Mata -  the prominent Spanish wine specialist and maker of a quality range of handmade Cava. People that have been awarded with title are fairly considered the greatest wine personalities in the world.

9th ENOEXPO International Wine Trade Fair in Kraków – the only such fair to be held in Poland

Poland is one of the most rapidly developing wine markets in Europe. This is the reason why we have become the most reliable and crucial partner  for the foreign distributors. The  investment attractiveness of Poland is improved by the  ENOEXPO International Wine Trade Fair, of which importance is emphasized by the fact that it is the only such a meeting point of wine enthusiasts in Poland. The trade fair will take place between 16th - 18th November 2011 in the exhibition hall of the Targi w Krakowie Ltd.
